So Daylight Savings happened and I still feel like I have been hit by a bus this morning. Springing forward is rough but when you have kids it’s like another level of torture. However, all complaining aside I do enjoy the extra hour of sunshine in the evenings and it is definitely a sign spring and summer are just around the corner.
We enjoyed some amazing warm weather this weekend and got some MUCH NEEDED vitamin D. You truly forget how much sunshine makes you happy until you go a few months without it. We have really been suffering from the winter blues the past couple weeks so it was a much needed rejuvenation for this household.
I got my hair done and got a much needed upgrade to the ole lions mane. I ADORE it and love the new look!
The boys got to play all day Saturday and enjoy running up and down the hill in their (very shredded) Spiderman and Superman Costumes. Costumes might just be the best invention ever made.
Gavin also got to enjoy the sunshine and discovered those fun things called shadows. He was absolutely delighted by the whole experience. He would watch intently and then move his hand and then just giggle up a storm. It was very similar to looking in the mirror but even more fascinating. It was absolutely adorable and made me about as giggly as he was.
He also enjoyed doing his scooting/crawling thing all over the driveway. I don’t think I’ll have to worry about blown out knees in this kids’ pants….it’s going to be a big blown out backside. His scooting has gotten quite hilarious considering he is getting faster and faster. The things babies do….
Sunday we had a short but much needed family outing. We ran and got some sandwiches for lunch and then took the boys out for donuts. We haven’t been anywhere as a family in about 6 weeks so it was really nice to get out and about. The donut made me nearly die of a sugar crash but the kids had fun so it was worth it. (Lesson learned for next time, however)
The big kids are on Spring Break this week so they will be spending lots of time outside running off some energy. Me and Jared will continue to work and try to maintain some sort of routine and order. (haha this is laughable) Hoping to hit up our local theme park this weekend for opening day. We didn’t get to go at all last year so we are super excited and the older kiddos are anxious to show baby brother what it’s all about.
Happy Monday, Friends! I hope you all had fun and relaxing weekends and are ready to tackle this week with a little more zest in your step and sunshine in your soul!!
