We had a really great weekend, despite the extremely hot temps. I’m definitely not going to complain about this weather, though, considering just a few short months ago we were in the midst of a polar vortex. Yuck!
We started off Saturday morning bright and early and headed to my cousin’s 7th birthday party. It was at Chuck -e-Cheese again this year and the boys were super excited to go since we haven’t been in a very long time. They got their tokens and went crazy, running from one game to the next gathering tickets on the way. We were pretty much the only ones there for the first hour so it was really fun to watch them all running around holding hands and playing all the games. We got to indulge in pizza and the boys enjoyed some yummy birthday cake and freshly spun cotton candy. Three hours later we were extremely over-stimulated and ready for some much needed peace and quiet. (Going to chuck-e-cheese as an adult is rough on the ole mental state….haha)
We headed home for the afternoon and got some much needed naps, some work done and Gavin got to hang out in his diaper which is always the best thing in his world. Around dinner time we headed off to meet our friends for some dinner and fair fun. None of us had been to this fair before and were slightly disappointed. It was one of those events that looks better when you are driving by or seeing pictures but in reality was not as grand. We tried to make the best of it for the kids so let them ride one ride (the safest one we could find) and treated them to some snow cones. That seemed to suffice so we were free to leave. After the fair we headed back to our friends’ house and ended the night playing games while the kids watched a movie. It was quite the experience trying to play board games while bouncing, feeding and patting the babies (since they decided they were just not receiving enough attention at that time). However, in true mom fashion we figured out a way and conquered the challenge.
Gavin enjoyed all the day’s adventures the way he usually does….Sleeping soundly!
We came home Saturday night to the most beautiful moon. Living out in the country definitely allows for some beautiful sky. This picture obviously does not do it justice in the slightest…but take my word for it…it was gorgeous!!
Sunday we spent the day cleaning, working and got a visit from my husband’s aunt and uncle. It ended with Dominos pizza, some time outside and a nice long sleep…..well sleep for all the men in the house. Hope you all had fabulous weekends!
