Woosh….that is the sound I just made as I plopped on the couch for what feels like the first time in over a week. The past week has been quite the blur of activity and has flown by to say the least. I apologize for neglecting my blog but I promise to make it up this week. So what’s been happening…..
Logan had his first Mighty Mites game last week. He played the Mustangs and won 16-8. It was a lot of fun and he had a blast. He had lots of family out to support him and cheer him on so that was really nice. He had a couple of tackles towards the end of the game and of course the game drinks and snacks, provided by yours truly, were the hit of the whole night. haha
Friday was spent with a slightly shorter day at school, work and a very relieved group of people at dinner. (The kids were very excited it was the weekend) Our dinner was very entertaining as Mr Gavin was the star of the show and provided lots of talking and animation with our meal. Definitely loving the Bumbo right now. We also discovered that Mason, who is almost 6, can fit into the Bumbo without any problem. He actually requested that I get him one for his upcoming birthday. Crazy kid!! 🙂
Speaking of Mr. Gavin Phoenix, he is currently teething and is not particularly enjoying it. I can see a couple of teeth trying to peek through on his bottom gums but I’m not sure they are going to make an appearance yet. He’s just a drooling, sometimes fussy and somewhat feverish teething machine. Thankfully, he has gotten down that hand/mouth coordination so is chewing on every possible toy imaginable.
Logan lost another tooth late Friday night and honestly I completely forgot to play Tooth Fairy. I remembered the second I woke up the next morning but of course that was too late. Yes, I know I’m still not winning Mother of the Year. However, I simply explained that even Tooth Fairies need a night off and there are so many kids in the world that sometimes they can’t get to them all. This was perfectly logical and acceptable to my 7 year old so life was good.
Saturday we squeezed in a couple of family games, a trip to the farmers market and some late night excitement. Of course this was all done while trying out our latest fall fashion on little man. Loving this onesie I picked up the other day….sooo funny!
Saturday night I was heading home from the gym when a demonic deer tried to end my life. He literally jumped off a rock cliff and would have landed on my windshield If I hadn’t swerved just in time. He ended up tearing up the side of my car and front end but thankfully no internal damage was done. Miracle for sure. I was shaken up and terrified but was rescued my by sister, brother n law, a stranger and the highway patrol. Last night on my way back to the gym I had really bad paranoia and anxiety but took it extremely slow and managed okay. It’s funny how something like that truly changes everything. There were so many ways I shouldn’t have come out of that ordeal unscathed but I did and for that I’m truly thankful! (These pics are after my bro n law had bent the metal back up off of my tire. It had been wrapped all the way over it before) I made it home okay just in time to successfully play Tooth Fairy that night!
Sunday I woke up with a headache and toothache from the previous night’s events but other than that I was fine. We spent the morning working and the afternoon yelling and pleading with the TV. Our Broncos ended up losing and it was yet again a hard loss but you can’t win them all sometimes. The game was VERY draining and everyone, besides me, crashed and went to bed about an hour after.
Another week of Mighty Mites, errands and work. Looking forward to sharing some exciting news about our new business here soon so stay tuned! Have fabulous weeks everyone….and watch out for deer! 😉
