So the big turkey week has arrived so it’s time to start thinking about what I’ll be making for all the upcoming events. Thanksgiving day will be spent with my family this year and then that evening I’ll be partying (mommy style) with my bestie to celebrate her birthday and have a diet cheat day!! Woot woot. Thankfully, my aunts and uncles and grandparents take care of the bigger dishes so that leaves me complete creativity to pick whatever foods I want to make and look good. Score for me!! 🙂
Here are the dishes I have decided on and am crossing my fingers they all turn out!
I am going to attempt my very own homemade cranberry sauce. I hear it’s pretty foolproof so that sounds like something built for me.
The boys will help me make a dessert cause I think it’s very important for them to get involved in the kitchen and learn the importance of contributing to family get togethers. Got to start em early! They have yet to decide on anything specific but have narrowed it down to a couple of options.
For my second Thanksgiving that will take place next week I will be making the traditional sweet potato casserole but with a pecan taste. My husband is sure to salivate all the way there.
Thanksgiving night will be spent indulging in appetizers, desserts and a drink or two. After months of eating extremely healthily I am ready for a night of sweet indulgence. Buffalo dip, pretzel bites, cranberry feta puffs and a caramel apple bundt cake is on the menu. All of this will be followed by a Minty Rum Chata. I’m literally starving just thinking about it. Yumm!! Here’s to hoping everything turns out the way I hope…..or at least tastes good. Happy Thanksgiving prep, friends!
