So I’m in denial that it’s Monday around here…but since the calendar rules the world I figure I should post about the weekend. Anyone else dreaming of Friday??
Saturday morning I woke up to a happy baby and a little trip to the farmer’s market with my Mason Man. He was stoked about the popcorn stash he charmed his mother into buying! Yes, I’m a sucker!! When we got home Logan had some quality goofy time with Gavin as did Daddy.
Then we actually broke away from work (yes we are workaholics) (and yes it’s unhealthy) (but we have to pay bills) and had some fun at a pumpkin patch. We have a really cool park around here that is on a farm which provides lots of fun scenery, play areas and a whole lot of acreage to roam around. During the fall they have a big pumpkin patch, corn mazes, hay rides and all sorts of other fall fun. We got there right at opening dressed in our fall clothes….which turned out to be a big mistake considering the temps were in the upper 80s. Say what? Needless to say we melted rather quickly and Gavin fell asleep from the sauna that was his carseat/stroller combo.
We got to pick out some perfect pumpkins for carving or painting, whichever the kids decide to do. They really enjoyed getting to pick the perfect one out from under all the vines and leaves. We were hoping to do the corn mazes but didn’t have tickets and weren’t looking forward to the mile walk back to the ticket booth and the mile walk back to the corn maze. There are just some things you learn to not even attempt with 3 kids and heat. Nonetheless the kids bounced up and down on the hay bales, saw some fun animals…including a giant rabbit that was bigger than Gavin….and best of all we got to enjoy some much needed time out of the house together. Hip hip hooray!
The boys finally got their haircut from their very own personal barber. Yes, we are like famous people….we have our own people!! Okay, okay it’s just Dad but hey one can dream.
Our football game was on last Thursday night so we spent yesterday cleaning, working, running errands and catching a little bit of football when we had the chance. The boys also had fun outside since it is likely one of our last really warm days of the year. They are predicting we are going to have another very cold winter. Please say it isn’t true??
Gavin enjoyed some Daddy time in which he wiggled himself into all sorts of weird positions….which he thought was just hilarious.
Back to work and life today….and even after 2 cups of coffee I’m already ready for bed and a Sunday morning sleep in! Hope you all had awesome weekends and have quick work weeks!
