Weekends used to look very similar to week days around here. Since most of them are filled with working we never really got the whole “weekend experience” that most people look forward to every week. This really isn’t too big of a deal since it has just been our routine. However, now that business is booming we are trying to find a better balance between work and play. So one of us sleeps in in the morning and we try to take a couple hours off in the afternoon to get out of the house. This has really been great and even though it’s not a lot of time it still does wonders for the mental health and family as a whole.
My friend that is getting married was in for the weekend so Saturday morning was spent with dress fittings, flower arrangements and makeup. I can’t believe we are T-27 days away. Say What?!?!? There are still a million things to do but everyone has clothes to wear and a location to show up for so really everything else is just foo-foo. 😉 It will be nice to all be reunited that week since we all live in 3 different states. It’s like a movie,”The Three Amigos Reunite.”
Saturday afternoon we got some work done, spent an hour in Home Depot watching my husband stare at the same light fixture for 45 minutes. Who knew there was such technical detail to buying lights for the garage/workshop. In order to keep all the hooligans entertained me and the boys went up and down the appliance aisles and lusted over all the things we wanted. Logan swears he needs a refrigerator all to himself……Lord help me! The sales people kept looking at us like I was a unicorn considering we passed the refrigerators 100 times….or maybe it’s because I was petting them with lust in my eyes. Who knows?! (Cue completely unrelated picture)
Sunday we spread my husband’s Grampy’s ashes. It was a gorgeous day and he would have been extremely pleased. Father and Daughter have been reunited so that definitely brings a smile to everyone’s face.
The rest of the day was long and kind of went by in a blur. We didn’t get home until close to 6 and we had a very tired 13 month old on our hands. He was a very patient kiddo all day with the running around but was at his limit once home. Needless to say he was asleep pretty quick. He even let me rock him which rarely happens anymore.
Today Gavin officially turns 13 months…..where is the time going? He continues to change and grow every day. He has the greatest little personality and his facial expressions are ones for the record books. As I write he is stuffing down a whole entire slice of cheese pizza (one of his favorites) and keeps giving me this sauce covered toothy grin. Be still my heart!
Hope you all had good weekends. Have an extremely busy week here full of work, baseball games, and July 4th. Oh man I guess I really need to get started on some party prep. Happy Monday!
