How is it already almost the half – way point of June?!?! Good grief this year is flying by faster than…..(insert your own cute analogy here cause I can’t think of one) haha! 😉
Needless to say the summer time is flying by. We had a wonderful weekend with sunny skies and super hot temps so we worked, practiced staying hydrated, and dunked the kids in the pool.
Saturday we worked all day until me and the hubs were both near exhaustion. I’m pretty sure I was mentally asleep by like 7 and physically asleep around 11. I honestly don’t remember anything after 7, except for seeing Chris Pratt briefly as He-Man on a re-run of Saturday Night Live. Ya….the things I remember. While we worked the boys were up to their usual shenanigans of seeing who could ask the most questions in a days time, throwing food on the floor, eating grass, and writing stories which is pretty much just an hours worth of, “Mom how do you spell _____.” I may have won the spelling bee in 6th grade but a girl can only handle so much!
Sunday we worked some more but took a break to let the kids play in the water. It was almost too hot for Gavin and poor guy wasn’t feeling very well. He only lasted about 30 minutes and fussed through most of it. I knew he was not himself when he fell asleep on me a few hours later. This NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER happens anymore since he is much to busy to cuddle on mom. I took a picture cause it honestly hasn’t happened since he was like 4 months old! I was loving it….until we turned into a sticky hot mess. haha
Sunday night me and Mason headed out with friends to see a live production of The Little Mermaid. As always, an unexpected adventure ensued since we almost had to miss dinner and tote two 6/7 year olds into a theatre on empty bellies. EEEK!!! Thankfully, we were able to practically stuff a burger down their throats whole and make it to the show just in the nick of time. My belly was rumbling but I think it added some good bass to a wonderful rendition of “Under the Sea.” Popcorn saved the day at intermission and carbs have never tasted so good, even though I’m sure the butter and salt content were building nests in my arteries. The show was great and it’s always nice to get out with just one of the kids….I know it’s extra special for them.
Not much else going on over here. Still looking for a new vehicle and contemplating swim lessons for the kids. I have time for just one more thing, right? :/ Happy Monday!!
