Last night was the first night of Moonlight Madnes at Silver Dollar City! The boys have been asking for over a year now when we are going to go to the “night Silver Dollar City.” So me and Jared surprised them with a visit last night expecting lots of smiles and cheers. Instead we got a “We wanted to go to the batman movie.” Sometimes you just can’t win! 🙂
After a long and very sweaty walk into the park we desperately needed to rehydrate. The logical choice would have been good ole H2O. However, we passed by the Sasparilla Root Beer and we were sunk. I mean who can resist the old fashioned taste of that? Plus, it comes in a bottle and in my experience anything that comes in a bottle is bound to be tasty!
The sun was still blaring even though it was close to 7:00 and it was HOT! We were sweating profusely and headed to the rides to cool off. First stop was the Elephants and the Frogs – 2 of our kids’ favorites. Thankfully on the way the kiddos found some heat relief.
Most of our time was spent in line for various rides. There was definitely still a huge crowd of people all throughout the park. We go so often that the kids are now used to waiting patiently for the rides. As a parent this is a massive relief.
To pass the time while in said lines we take lots of pictures of ourselves.
We then proceeded over to the River Blast. We desperately needed to get wet and this was just the ride to do it. Thankfully, it didn’t dissapoint. This was us after getting a thorough drenching… we were soaked!!
Later we had root beer floats and funnel cake because you can’t possibly go to SDC and not gorge on sugar.
The night ended with a dance party on the square in which we got to witness dances to Thriller, Footloose, the Electric Slide, The Bunny Hop and many more. I begged the boys to join me in the throngs of dancers but they left their bravery at home so mommy was left dissapointed. Oh well, maybe next time! 🙂
As always it was a blast having some family time and making memories after a long week at work.
Wishing everyone some cool relief from these hot summer days…..grab some ice cream!
