April is proving to be a pretty busy time. Seems like April and May are always a little crazy every year. Last weekend I was literally on the go from Friday morning until Sunday evening with my best friend’s wedding plans. She is currently in Florida and planning for the wedding to take place here so we had to cram about 3 months worth of appointments and plans into one weekend. It was go, go, go but it was a lot of fun and we accomplished quite a bit. Go us!! The three of us have known each other since junior high but it’s rare to get all three of us in the same place anymore so it was really nice to have some much needed girl time. We are very excited for the wedding and hopefully everything will come together in time!
The boys are gearing up for the end of school in 5 short weeks. Where is the time going? I can’t believe we will have a third grader and first grader?!?! Slow Down! Logan has a pirate themed music program on Tuesday night and then they both have gobs of field trips and other fun trips for the rest of the year. I always look forward to Summer with mixed feelings. I enjoy spending lots of time with the kids and love watching them have time to just be free and run around….however it’s also hard when your kids really thrive on structure and learning. They tend to get very bored and cranky. Thankfully, we always adjust…it’s just that adjustment period that isn’t so fun.
We have some business expansion taking place and working out logistics and designing/making products is always a time consuming and stressful process. I’m excited about all the things on the horizon it’s just a little slow going when I have a very energetic 10 month old who is into everything in sight. Nanny anyone?!?!
Mason’s “serious” girlfriend moved last week to a different town so he has been pretty devastated. For anyone who doesn’t know, I birthed a Casanova. He is the sweetest boy in the world and the ladies love him. I have never seen a kindergartner “in love” as much as him. Good news the feeling is mutual. He has been dreading her moving but we got some sweet pictures of the two of them and I was able to get their new address for letters and play dates. He literally nearly died from excitement when I told him we could have a playdate. He says the sweetest things like, “I will always love Ella and when we are adults we will find each other again and get married.” The other day he was crying and said, “Mom I love Ella so much my heart just hurts.” (I almost cried right along with him) He also discovered how pretty Taylor Swift is the other day and said, “Well she is awfully pretty, with her red lips and all, but I will always love Ella. She is the girl for me.” Like seriously are these not the sweetest things you’ve ever heard. When I showed him the pictures the teacher took of him and her he took my phone and kissed the screen. My heart literally can’t take it.
As far as the other boy goes he is at the stage where girls have cooties and have no place in his heart. His heart is much to full with Pokemon, Teen Titans Go and whatever else 2nd grade boys like these days. At least I don’t have to fend girls off of both of them…..yet!
Hope your weeks are easy and sunshiny! Happy Monday!
