Since I have preggo mommy on the brain I decided to share with you all a particular mommy related product I am obsessed with at the moment. Due to all the hip, back and pelvis pain I have been having I decided to look for a belt, girdle or type of shape wear that would hopefully provide me with a little more support, constriction and ease the pain a bit. Literally, after nights of research and reading hundreds of reviews I finally decided on this product by MeMoi.
It says that it is a “thigh shaper” but it supports and lifts the belly, gives some good support and slimming at the hips and the full panel makes it very comfortable and prevents the whole thing from riding up. My biggest pet peeve with shape wear is the belly portion or the thigh portion is always rolling down or up and is just annoying. The whole point of shape wear is that no one is supposed to know you’re wearing. Kind of hard to pull off when you are having to pull and tug and re-position everything every time you stand, sit or even bend over. The material is very soft and stretchy enough to allow for it to slip on with ease but tight enough to give the support and constriction it needs to provide. For anyone who has been pregnant before we all know that trying to pull on pants in your third trimester can lead to dizziness, hot flashes and feeling like you have just spent all your energy you had for the day. (Or is it only me that feels like that…hmmm) So the ease at which I can get this over my ever expanding hips, thighs and belly has made it a winner in my book.
I wear this every day under all types of different clothing including skirts, pants and jeans. It hides very well under all different materials and cuts and no outline or seams can be seen through your clothing. The first 3 days I wore this I found my hip and pelvis pain had decreased quite a bit throughout the day. I could tell instantly I had more support which was helping to keep the belly from applying so much pressure off of my pelvis. Plus, the restriction in the hips definitely helped with the aches and sharp pains I have been having for months. However, if not washed often the material gets stretched out and tends to not provide as good of support as it does when it is new/freshly washed. This is obviously extremely common with clothing of all types but especially shape wear. It’s just annoying because it is hand wash only.
This brand sells all sorts of shape wear preggo or not and they have pretty much every option you could ever need. In a flooded market where shape wear can be extremely expensive I was happy to only shell out $20 for this. It has definitely been worth the price considering most other brands were wanting $40 – $100 for this exact piece. The price of being pregnant is already high without adding to it.
So for all you mommies, mommy to be’s or women in general looking for a solution to your shape wear needs….give this lower cost option a try! Hope you like it!!
