Today was the first day in a few weeks I have had to just hang out with the little men by myself. It was also the first time I managed to stay awake to actually enjoy their company. Even though I have boys they still love to do artsy crafty stuff which has made me a happy girl. I bought lots of canvas 2 weeks ago and decided to get to work making something we can actually hang on the walls.
We gathered up all of our supplies and set to work. Washable paint and wet wipes because any craft with kids is bound to be messy no matter how hard I try.
Then we went to work getting all painted up and stenciling. First we started with the feet
Then we moved on to the hands. It was nearly impossible to get a good coating since all I heard were squeels and giggles and exclamations of, “It tickles, it tickles!” Bunch of goofballs!
Having painted hands of course made them feel like power rangers. They were yelling out, “Go, go Samurai!” and “Fire smasher.” They were also referring to each other as Jayden, the red ranger (Logan) and Kevin, the blue ranger (Mason). At one point they got so into it I nearly had a painted handprint right on my forehead and in my hair. It was a wild time. 🙂
After we had defeated the evil Nylocks and dominated our watercolor paints our project was finished.
We made an absolute mess as evidenced by all the dirty wet wipes we had left.
The kiddos had a blast squishing the paint between their fingers and toes and I just enjoyed some fun, uninterrupted time with them. It’s been too long!
Sending you all creative thoughts so you can create your own masterpiece…..
