Well hello, friends! It has been over 2 months since I have been able to write on my blog and I have missed you all very much.
So where have I been? Well, long story short, I was hacked by a certain terrorist organization that I will not name (in case they are trolling my blog for such titles) and was shut down while my hosting services looked into the hack. I was finally given permission to post again a few days ago so here I am. My personal social media accounts were also hacked so it’s been a weird and rather surreal experience and one that has definitely made me even more aware of just how small the world really is. I’m hoping now that the terrorists have realized I am not that interesting they will move on and let me continue on with my oh so important family updates, recipes and all the other life changing things I do. 😉 Honestly, all joking aside…I do take the hack very seriously but also know that there isn’t much I can do about it and it won’t stop me from speaking or writing on my blog.
Anyways, enough about that.
Things have been rather crazy since the beginning of the year. We battled sickness of every king that was passed around from person to person the whole month of January. February was full of holiday and birthday celebrations and now March is bringing us school conferences, spring break, and lots of time off for the older kiddos. We have had big business changes and so it’s been a lot of work and planning and thought and you know….the usual mayhem.
Logan and Mason had another excellent review at parent teacher conferences. They got to attend with me and show me all of the work they have done this year, different classroom projects they have completed, rewards they have earned and upcoming things they will be doing to finish out the year. As usual, they got rave reviews with their behavior and Logan has already earned a free bike at the end of the year for earning good behavior points aka signatures. I did learn that Mason tends to enjoy whispering to his friends during certain learning times but I can’t say I was surprised. He is a little social butterfly. Logan will be moving on to middle school next year and I can hardly even believe it. I fear junior high the most, just because that’s such a tough age, but middle school is also a big change…especially these days. They are starting electives next year, which is new in our district, so he is excited about seeing what those will be…as am I. Rumor has it there will be sports classes and musical classes so fingers crossed that is true. Ahhhh big changes all the time!
The younger two continue to grow like weeds. You guys, Boden will be ONE in less than a month and I can’t even fathom that. I won’t get into too much detail here because I will be doing his 11 month update in a couple of days but he is hitting major milestones at a rapid pace. It’s like he just saved them all up to hit at once. He truly is turning into a toddler and I don’t like it one bit. His relationship with Gavin continues to bloom into utter cuteness and they are thick as thieves…which means I’m in major trouble again. It’s so precious to watch them interact and then super fun to see their dynamic with the older two. Logan and Mason are the best biggest brothers and I just love to watch them all together. I truly hope they’re always this close…even if their punching each others eyes out! 😉 Gavin’s vocabulary is also excelling at a rapid pace. The kid can talk soooo great for his age and every day he is making longer sentences and saying new words. To say he is bossy is an understatement. In typical 2 almost 3 fashion he will not listen to the world “no” and if he wants something you had best hop to. I often will hear him talking to Logan and Mason saying “Pay-Pay (iPad) right now, boys!” and then if they don’t move fast enough he will say, “Go faster, son. Geez!!” I literally die! hahahahahahaha!!! I love how he calls them son because he has heard us call them that. Oh man that kid. Such a nutcase. Thankfully, the older two take it well and usually answer back with their own wisecracks. Never a dull moment.
We are enjoying some amazingly warm, unseasonably awesome weather and are very much looking forward to Spring. We will be heading to our local theme park during Spring Break in a couple of weeks and look forward to getting out of the house and doing some summer like activities. We have a busy summer which I am trying to plan for. I want to take Logan away for a 10th birthday weekend trip. I always wanted to do something special for our kids during their 10th birthday year. We will likely head up to see a baseball game in KC or St Louis and spend a couple days just the three of us. Then I’m really hoping to get away for a girls trip to Vegas because momma needs a full nights sleep and a day of no diapers so hopefully we can make that happen. Then we’ve got birthdays and company and weddings and just so many fun things in the future that I am super excited about. Let the fun begin and may the coffee continue to pour so we can get through it all awake! 😉
Sorry I don’t have more of a fun update for you all but to recap 2 whole months would take up 3 hours so I will stop with that. I’ll do Boden’s 11 month update soon and get back on my normal routine shortly. I’ve missed you all and thanks for your patience during this weird time. Just say no to more hacking!!!
