It’s been a crazy month of May with school ending and summer beginning. While Fall is my favorite season, summer is probably the most enjoyable as far as activities and family time goes. Being able to have a little more freedom and slow down is a much needed break from the yearly go go go spirit we operate in.
Both Logan and Mason are playing baseball this year and that has quickly become our favorite activity. It’s been so fun to get out of the house, sit on the grass and watch the kiddos play. The pace of their games couldn’t be more polar opposite but it’s fun to see two completely different levels of play. They’re doing really well and all of those late night practices in the backyard with dad are paying off. I’m always reminding them how fortunate they are to have a dad who is always willing to throw a ball around with them and teach them sports, even after a long day of work. They’re truly lucky kids.
They will also be in swimming lessons this summer which is a long time coming. I’m hoping they’ll finally get through all the classes and maybe be ready for the swim team if they so desire. I’m trying to make up the activities we have missed the past few years because of the babies we have had. So this is the summer of crazy activity mayhem. hahaha.
They both ended school last Friday and many tears were had by all. Mason was a mess that whole morning at school, all the teachers were crying, Logan was stoic but inside a little sad and I was a little emotional myself seeing Logan end his 4th grade year. Big changes are coming next school year so it’s exciting but a little sad to close a chapter as well. I think some space will do them both good and they will no be in separate schools and have their own space. I imagine big growth for both of them in the coming year.
Gavin will turn 3 in one week and to say that went by fast is an understatement. I remember him turning 2 like it was yesterday and the past year really has just flown by. His vocabulary is taking off like crazy and he really has turned into such a little boy full of funny, attitude and independence. He continues to be a little spit fire and I know 3 will bring that out even more. Boy oh boy are we in trouble. 😉
Boden still isn’t fully walking. He takes steps everywhere but really has decided walking is not for him. Life is better on all fours, didn’t ya know? He continues to hold his own with the older guys and can tackle, wrestle, scream and loudly sing with the rest of him. He’s the loudest chillaxed individual I have ever met. 😉 He is constantly on the go and will wiggle out of any hold or contraption you may put him in. Even changing his diaper has become a 2 person job since he literally won’t lay there long enough to get changed. I think he truly is half monkey and could probably survive just fine in the woods.
Everything else is good. Work is going well and I’ve so been enjoying my online boutique. It’s been such a fun and creative outlet for me and I’m so excited to see what the future holds for that business.
Other than that nothing too exciting is happening over here….which I consider a win. I figure if life with 4 boys is dull then that means nobody is dying or having some kind of catastrophe so#winning. 🙂
Hope you all have lovely weeks and are enjoying the end of the school year wherever you are! Bring on SUMMER!!!
