Time for another family update, although, it doesn’t feel like anything extraordinary has been going on. BTW when you have a crazy life like we do nothing extraordinary is actually a good thing. Hahah.
The boys are officially home from school so we are quickly adjusting to the every day grind of trying to keep everyone on routines, schedules and away from the vessel of boredom that seems to suck in the big dudes if we aren’t careful. I talked about some tips I’m using this summer to keep the older two on track and entertained in a post you can find here. So far they are still working pretty good. Yes, we do have our days of complete crazy and I have a feeling now that the weather is heating up those days are likely to be multiplied but honestly, I can’t complain and am hoping these strategies work all summer long. Gavin has been super excited they are home and has also been a champ with sticking to his routine which has surprised me. Sometimes when they boys are off he wants to be big and independent and stay up from naps etc. But he’s been great, albeit, a little moody at having to share attention. He’ll get over it though.
Sickness has hit us hard the past few weeks. Logan was sick the last 2 days of school, then Jared had a couple days of yuck, followed by me catching some weird sore throat and cold thing which I think I gave to Gavin. He’s been coughing and snotty nosed for a few days now. Tuesday, I had my every 3-4 years passing out episode but am feeling much better today. I think with all the things going on I’ve neglected keeping track of my water intake. I’m usually really on top of it since I have a history of easily getting dehydrated but we’ve been busy that past few days so I was negligent. My body has a way of telling me how much it does not appreciate it’s negligence so I’ve got the memo now. :/
Boden continues to grow like a weed. Over 2 months now and is starting to develop a little personality, albeit, a pretty chill one. His sleeping has improved immensely in the past week which makes for one happy momma. I think we have had 2 bad nights out of 6 so I will take what I can get. He is steadily waking up just 2 times and is pretty easily put back to bed after a bottle. So I’m usually up about 30 minutes and then we are all back in our beds snoozing away. Thank goodness for small miracles.
Last weekend we attended their cousins 8th birthday party Star Wars style. They did such a good job decorating and we all had a blast. Can’t believe Emily is already 8 and that Mason will be 8 in 4 months. Seriously, where is the time going? I don’t even feel old enough to have an almost 10 and 8 year old. Ugh makes me sad to think about it.
Business is going well and we just moved everything back home from our warehouse. I’ll touch more on some reasons why and our business in general in a future post but it was all a positive move. We decided we want to save the money in hopes to pursue a big goal we have in the next couple of years. Plus, it’s just easier being here where we don’t have to go back and forth, we have a bit more flexibility and Jared can see the kids a bit more this summer. So far it’s worked out great and we are happy with our decision. I have also recently became a fitness coach and am super excited about it. I’ve been wanting to do it for about 9 years and decided to finally take the leap. It’s allowed me to get to know some INCREDIBLE women who I’ve already fallen in love with. It has also given me an avenue to help others on their health and fitness journey. The most incredible thing happens when someone takes the time to improve their health- they not only benefit on the outside but on the inside. Their whole life changes mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically and I’m so excited and blessed to be a part of it. I’ll link a few things here on the blog but this will still be my space for all the things I’ve always talked about so don’t worry….I won’t be cramming fitness and health down your throat….although that wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. 🙂
Other than that nothing is really happening. Just hanging out, getting things done and enjoying each other. Hope your summers are off to a great start and hope you’re establishing a good routine with the little ones.
