Friday was Halloween which is always a favorite Holiday around here. The boys anticipate Halloween every day of the year and I always enjoy relishing in their excitement and planning fun stuff. We usually do a countdown to Halloween where I do something “themed” for the 7-10 days leading up to the big day but this year those ten days flew by and I lost my chance. Whoops! Nevertheless the boys had a great day at school with parties and cupcakes and festive crafts. We carved pumpkins and snacked on some cinnamon sugar pumpkin seeds (which were amazing by the way). We also had black pasta with red sauce which looked like worms according to the boys. Gavin looked on with envy not completely satisfied with his corn and pumpkin baby food. haha
Captain America, Iron Man and the cutest monkey I’ve ever seen showed up at the house after dinner. I think we have officially gone through all the super heroes so I’m not sure what that means for next year. Gasp…..we might actually have to make something or get creative!! 😉
This tail!!! I die a thousand deaths!!!
Trick or treating was fun, but cold, and they ended up with quite the haul. We still go door to door because of tradition sake and you just can’t beat that experience. We have found great neighborhood to spend the night in and the residents really get into the spirit which makes it really fun and safe. Gavin fell asleep in the stroller and we cocooned him in so that he was as warm as possible. Wish I could say the same for myself…..my hands were freezing!!
When we got home we watched our annual Charlie Brown and Garfield halloween episodes and the boys gorged on candy. They are allowed to eat as much as they want for that one night. They literally ate until they were sick. I’m pretty sure Logan turned green at one point. It’s actually quite entertaining for me and Jared. 😉
Saturday was spent around the house working and the boys running around in their “now free to destroy” costumes. Every time I looked outside there was a super hero sprawled on the lawn while the other stood over them in victory!! Oh life with boys.
Sunday was football day, errand day, and trying to get ready for another busy week. I also discovered that Christmas music is already on the radio. Does this bother anyone else? Ugh I’m so burnt out on Christmas before it even gets here. I wish we could slow the roll on the crazy holiday season. But, alas, it is the way of the world so I’m going to try to not be sick of it before Xmas day this year. Fingers crossed!
Hope you all have great weeks and enjoyed your Halloween as much as we did!
