Routine: Our daily routine is down to a fine art and displays perfection up to the exact minute….haha! Like all babies he thrives on routine and is pretty content when it’s followed. However, he is pretty flexible if need be but for the most part we are at home and able to stick to his schedule so all is right in the world.
Sleeping: Off and on with sleeping in the night. Still waking up about 5/7 nights but usually just once. Sometimes he will wake up around 10:30 right when I go to bed but for the most part it’s between 2-3. Hopefully, we are moving more towards the full night sleep era.
Eating/Feeding: Eating like a hog per usual. Still eating lots of cereal and baby food. He is still on stage 2 foods. I will likely introduce some stage 3 this month and the pediatrician said he can do table foods by 7 months. He is a little advanced minion due to the large crowd of people he has to observe around here. The one plus of being 6 months old is that we are halfway through the expensive formula stage. I have been able to cut costs with that but it will be nice when we don’t have to be spending 25 bucks a week on formula!!
Sizes: Size 4 diapers which I love because they soak up so much more. No more waking up in the morning with wet clothes. He is in mostly 12 month clothes at this point and continues to grow rapidly out of his jammies. I just can’t keep this kid in clothes!!
Milestones: He is sitting up pretty much independently now. I still sit next to him on the living room floor since it’s hard wood but I trust him alone on carpeted and soft surfaces. Also, going shopping is getting easier since he can mostly sit in the cart with little help…..Hooray!! He is rolling over like a champ and gets up on his arms but has shown no interest in getting on his knees or even attempting crawling. He prefers to just putter around in his walker. He continues to talk ALL the time and loves to give kisses. Still no teeth but I have a feeling they are all going to come in at once.
Favorite Toys: He is loving his walker now that he has learned how to putter around all over the place. He is a walking machine and it has really helped with the frustration of not being able to move at this age. Yes, I know everyone has their own opinions on the matter but this has been a lifesaver for us. He has also taken a fondness to our houseplants. I keep explaining to him that they are not for eating or ingesting. Perhaps he is just trying to connect with his ZZ through her love of plants….however I think it’s really his need to be rotten. Haha. He loves music of any kind and always wants to dance or laugh whenever it is on. He got introduced to Christmas music this month and seems to enjoy that as well.
Favorite Moment: Every moment is my favorite but watching him change so much is always fun (and sad) at the same time. The way he interacts with his brothers and always wants to be in the middle of everything is soooo sweet. 6 months is a big milestone full of lots of changes and a small preview into toddler-hood so it’s been so much fun. If I won the lottery I would have 35 kids just to see all these amazing moments over and over but that isn’t the case….poo!
