Yes, the little guy is officially 5 months old today! So crazy. Definitely enjoying all the milestones but not enjoying the growing up so fast part. However, I’ve learned that there is no avoiding such things so you just gotta roll with it!
Height/Weight: Staying steady at 20 pounds and is about 28 inches long
Routine: Still on a really good routine which is extremely helpful with work. Some days are still better than others but such is life with a baby.
Sleeping: Still sleeping through the night…..for the most part. However, the couple times a week that he wakes up for a feeding…I can totally live with. A lot of mommas are still waking up all night so I am NOT going to complain. If you are one of those ladies….don’t worry I’ve been there and this too shall pass! He is taking about 2 naps per day which on a good day are about 2 hours long. If I can get that to be an every day thing I’ll be stoked. The amount of work I can get done in those 2 hours is pretty impressive….even to myself. haha
Eating/Feeding: He is eating tons of stage 1 and 2 baby foods. He loves it all and didn’t even flinch with the “green” stuff. I’ve never seen a baby take down spinach like a champ but he does. He is also loving all the pumping flavors mixed with apple and corn. We love beechnut baby foods and I secretly love having the jars for all the various purposes they provide. He eats baby food 2-3 times a day and is doing formula the rest of the time. Yup, he is a hog but I am enjoying saving money on formula. Hooray!!
Sizes: Still in size 3 diapers and has moved up to a lot of 12 month clothing. There is nothing in the 6 month range that fits any more so we are getting lots of midriff and capri action going on….not a good look this time of year. haha
Milestones: He is sitting up with little support which is amazing. Still isn’t rolling over because he just refuses to try. Definitely a big lazy dude! He is doing much better with tummy time and tolerates it as long as he can play with toys. His head control is spectacular and his hand mouth coordination continues to be improving. He has discovered his feet with his hands but hasn’t tried to put them in his mouth yet. He continues to talk all the time and is getting louder and louder by the day. No teeth yet but they are certainly coming soon as evidenced by the drool he is producing every day. I think we need wet floor signs around here so that we don’t break our necks from all the slobber on the wood floors. Lol
Favorite Toys: Still loves his walker, sophie the giraffe and really anything that he can find to put in his mouth. His current favorite is mommy’s hair and face. He loves to just grab and bring my whole face in for a kiss…..or really just a massive chewing session. haha! Some day I really will miss having slobber all over my face and spit up in my hair. 🙂
Favorite Moment: Gavin LOVES to play and is definitely my most playful baby to date. Don’t get me wrong I have two other goofballs but they were much more content on their own and entertaining themselves. Gavin can be independent but he loves to be tickled, make goofy faces, play peek-a-boo and any other game we can come up with. He giggles all the time and thinks that I am hilarious…which I must agree with! 😉 I’ll even discover him laughing at the boys as they tell stories about school. It’s the cutest little thing.
Looking forward to the coming month and all the love, joys, smiles, movements and poopy diapers that come with it!! Cheers to month 5!!!
And since I feel like I haven’t left the house in nearly 5 months or hardly seen anyone….here is a pic of me on this celebratory day of surviving 5 months with 3 boys!! Amazing what some concealer can do! Oh and this might also be due to the fact that it’s the first good hair day I’ve had since giving birth. Haha…..happy survival day to all you mom’s out there!!
