Another busy week is coming to an end and we are facing our very last weekend before school starts next week. Gah….where did the time go?? 🙁 We have spent the week trying to get back into a school routine which means the boys are back to bed at 8:00 and don’t have all day to eat their meals. Some think I’m crazy but I actually time their meals so they get used to only having 25 minutes to eat. This is especially helpful to Mason who will be in Kindergarten and is not used to such a regimented schedule. The only thing we haven’t been practicing is getting up early….cause this tired momma is just not up for all that. haha
The boys have been spending lots of time in the pool. We finally got our faucets fixed so they have been running and jumping and splashing around for days on end. They both ended up with sunburns at the beginning of the week but have since recovered….thank goodness. I’m an advocate sunscreen user so felt so bad they got burned. They weren’t down for too long before they were right back out there the next day. They also got to spend the night with the grandparents on Tuesday for a final bash before back to school they go.
Gavin is having a good week, minus yesterday morning when he screamed for most of the morning. He has been super smiley and is slowly discovering that “fat baby in the mirror.” It’s adorable. Tummy time is also becoming much easier as he is getting used to it and is doing fabulous. I found out that if I just put him on his tummy every time I change his diaper he gets used to the routine. I also read him a book and make sure he has lots of colorful things to look at while is laying there. So far so good. (Oh and tummy time is also useful for trying on hats and taking adorable pics)
Me and the hubs actually got to watch a whole movie the other night for the first time in a while. Time together is pretty limited these days and the ability to get through a whole movie without an interruption is very rare. We are looking forward to Captain America 2 coming out this month at the redbox so we can finally see it. Some day we will make it back to the movie theatre since we haven’t been there in 3 years….sad, I know!
The boys had Open House last night and got to meet their teachers, while I sat through 2 hours of information and filling out repetitive paperwork. I’m pretty sure I wrote down that they were riding the bus around 30 times per child. My hand was quite crampy by the time we got home. But…the boys were super excited and are much less nervous now that they have met their teachers and seen a few of their classmates.
As for me, I have been hitting the gym every night with my bestie. I’m down 8 pounds in 11 days so am feeling really good. It’s also been super nice getting out of the house and having some girl time after all the boys are put to bed. Being surrounded by boys every day definitely makes me appreciate girl time. 🙂 Lovin this new tank top I got for 3 dollars on Amazon!! Score!
We are hoping for a fun yet somewhat relaxing last weekend before the big week next week. Hope you all enjoy your weekends! See ya Monday!
