Just thought I would do a quick catch up of what’s been going on this week. It’s been a pretty normal week with school and work but a few non-planned things have taken shape!
This kid decided that he would see what all the rolling over fuss is about. He has almost mastered sitting but decided to go back and do some of that “baby” stuff he missed. I guess he didn’t want to make the other babies feel bad. Such a nice little boy!! 😉 He is still working on getting back from his belly to his back (which is supposed to be the easy one) but has decided that is way more work than he is willing to do right now. Screaming for help is definitely easier. I mean have you seen those chunky thighs?? I’m with ya buddy!
Winter seems to have arrived early this year with temps in the 20s and 30s….yuck! They are calling for snow this weekend which I’m hoping stays far away for many reasons. So I have been busy pulling out hats, gloves and locating coats for all the kiddos. Gavin looked quite sweet as he took a visit to our Aunt Teresa’s the other day. Apparently, the cold doesn’t faze him much.
Since it’s so cold we figured it only fitting to pull out our first holiday themed jammies!! Wait…is it too early?? I’m not a fan of celebrating before Thanksgiving but with those big thighs, that I mentioned earlier, he is sure to be all grown out of this before the “appropriate” time. Besides he is just too cute!!
We had a few medical ailments this week. Mason came home with the biggest swollen and nastiest looking lip I’ve ever seen in my life. It honestly looked like his lip was decaying. This stuff doesn’t bother me but it sure looked painful. He was pretty emotional about it but decided that life could go on long enough to eat some dinner. Although, that is quite the chore considering how swollen it was. He had ended up biting through a canker sore he developed last week and the body doesn’t seem to like it when you do that. I told him a million times not to bite or pick at it but sometimes these little guys have to learn for themselves. Hopefully, lesson was learned!
On top of that I have developed an allergic reaction to my wedding ring. Yes, this is possible….even after wearing it for several years. In this picture it has been a month since I’ve worn it (except for picture day) and it still looks rough. As I type it looks awful again even though nothing has been touching it. I’m not sure it’s ever going to heal. Unfortunately, my options are to wear a band aid underneath it for the rest of my life, or buy a platinum or titanium band. Cause those are so affordable! It’s been pretty devastating because I HATE not being able to wear my ring. It’s definitely a piece of me and it’s been a big bummer. Gonna start saving my pennies so maybe in a few years I can get something that won’t irritate my skin. Until then….not sure what I’m gonna do.
Teething is still upon us and I’m starting to think my son will never have teeth. He has struggled the most and longest with severe teething symptoms and it doesn’t show any sign of stopping. He is feverish and has horrible red cheeks and so I’m really hoping that thing pops in soon. Poor guy!! We were not having a good day on Monday as you can see.
I did some subbing at the schools on Wednesday and had a great time but of course missed the wee bot while I was away. The boys are wrapping up school weeks in about 1 hour and we have a birthday party planned for tonight. Sunday we have a HUGE surprise planned for the boys (thanks to a very generous brother n law) and I honestly can’t wait to spend the day with them. I’m pretty sure they might both have massive heart attacks!! Hopefully, I get it on video! Will share all the fun times on Monday! Have great weekends and happy Friday
