We had a simple holiday shin-dig here at the Harris household. Joined by my cousin and his family we gorged on hot dogs, sides and vanilla cake. The sun was hot but the rain held off, which is starting to become a miracle around here. Seriously, what is with all this rain?!?
It’s so fun to see the kids grow up and change together. Every time we get together something new is happening, especially with the two youngest ones. Gavin has turned out to be quite the Casanova and literally couldn’t stop climbing and kissing all over Kaylee. It was by far one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. His pure excitement had him slobbering all over her like a kitten drinking milk. She was less than thrilled, but patient, until he tried to literally crawl over her head while she was sitting. Priceless.
The older kids played some baseball and once it got dark we did a few “Alecia Approved” fireworks which were basically anything that didn’t leave the ground. My heart rate stayed at a steady pace so I was pleased. We ended the night at the top of our hill taking in all the firework shows in the surrounding areas. I can honestly say being able to have that view is definitely one of the biggest perks of our house. It’s uber relaxing and not having to fight traffic or crowds is quite possibly the best thing in the world.
Yesterday, I picked up our family pictures…so will share some of those later this week. Lots of work happening this week as well as trying to finish our master bedroom upgrade, preparing for my best friend’s wedding in less than 3 weeks, and not drowning from all the rain we just can’t get rid of.
