So because the new year is quickly approaching I have been thinking about possible resolutions. Although New Year’s resolutions are cliche and often cheesy I like to have goals and a clear vision of what we want to accomplish. Me and my husband have always functioned better with clear goals in mind. When we first got married we knew we wanted kids, a house, and degrees within 5 years. We accomplished all of that in 6 years so I say we did pretty good. Obviously, I’ll have the typical ‘get healthy’ and ‘lose weight’ resolution that I have had on there for 4 years now…..yet haven’t accomplished to the fullest. However, this year I am wanting some other good yet achievable goals for myself and my family.
I think the worst things about resolutions is we often set ourselves up for failure. We have such great intentions but get so excited about having a goal that we forget to really think about how achievable the goal is, how much time it will take or if in reality we will actually do it. I am very guilty of this and am bound not to make the same pitfall this year. I am determined to make some resolutions that I can re-visit in December of 2013 and know I met every single one of them. Plus, I think it’s a good example for my kids to see their parents set their mind to something and achieve it through hard work and dedication.
I will be sharing my finalized resolution list with all of you soon. It’s always good to make these things public that way I’m held more accountable. Until then…..what resolutions are you making?
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and updates on all of our Christmas adventures (including pictures) are coming soon……
