Today was the last day I had off with the family before the big day on Monday. I would have liked to have something really spectacular planned but it was pretty much a normal day around here. A normal day meaning lots of power ranger fighting, working, cooking, cleaning, napping, cardboard construction, crafting, and walking around asleep with our eyes open. Yup….typical day!
Me and Logan were able to bake some chocolate chip cookies together which was a lot of fun. The not so fun part was me consuming more than I should have. In my very weak defense, they were by far the best chocolate chip cookies we have made in a LONG time.
In preparation for the big day Logan got his hair cut.
For once he isn’t bald and actually looks like a little man. I almost teared up after this picture. I can’t believe how big he is getting. Seems like yesterday he was being stubborn and making me wait 10 extra days for his arrival into the world. I can honestly say he is as stubborn now as he was 5 1/2 years ago. Deep down I know he is going to take the Kindergarten world by storm and leave a lasting impression on everyone he meets. Those big blue eyes are very hard to forget.
I’ve been holding it together considering the big day is 4 days away. My patients at work are more emotional than I am. They ask me every day if I have cried yet and have offered their shoulders in case I do. Thank goodness for my sweet patients. They make my day!
As the days fade and the nights grow darker I give a few extra hugs, some longer kisses and prepare myself for this incredible new chapter in our lives. I know my boys will be graduating high school before I know it so I’m going to cherish these moments….even the bittersweet ones…..before I run out of time.
For all those about to send their kiddos off to school…..stock up on kleenexes and waterproof mascara….it’s almost time!!
