I AM COMBINING BOTH 10 AND 11 MONTH UPDATES SINCE I HAD TO TAKE MY HIATUS. 😉
Height/Weight: 21 pounds and 32 inches. He gained less than a pound this month but grew a whole inch.
Routine: Our routine is finally getting into a better place, again, after battling all the sickness and change of pace the new year brought. January was a doozy and I am glad we are leaving some of that behind. I have been able to get their naps basically aligned and that always brings a HUGE sigh of relief to the day. It’s nice to have some uninterrupted time to get some work done, clean, or just take 2 seconds to breathe or pee without someone peering around the door.
Sleeping: He is still waking up at night….several times. He is easy to put back down but for some reason he is on a weird pattern with this. He seems to be really hungry at night and as much as I try to feed him more throughout the day…he will have none of that madness. Once he is on more solid foods, I suspect this to change and things will get better. Plus, the sickness he had and the ear infection really threw off his nighttime habits so I think he is still adjusting from that. Once he hits a year, I suspect he will be sleeping through the night again, as all of my boys did.
Eating/Feeding: He is eating a lot more solid foods now than before. He finally decided that he is okay with the chewing method. He will eat puffs and crackers like a champ and most things off of my plate. There’s not much he doesn’t like…at least for now…but he still definitely prefers to get the majority of his calories from milk.
Sizes: Still size 4 diapers and 18-24 month clothes. I literally can’t keep him in pants due to his long legs. He is growing soooo fast.
Milestones: He hit a lot of milestones this month. They all seemed to just happen all at once. He is army crawling and getting up on all fours in an attempt to crawl. I bet he will be mastering that very soon…although the speed at which he army crawls would say he doesn’t really need to be on all fours. He is eating more solids, as noted above and is talking, talking, talking ALL THE TIME. He goes from a laying to sitting position easily and is just really mobile. We are still working on feeding himself since that also requires work and well….he’s the baby..soooo they’re not actually expected to do stuff for themselves, right? 😉
Favorite Toys: Trains, trucks, balls and really anything Gavin plays with. He loves to sit with Gavin’s tracks and they play cars together. Its the sweetest thing. Now that he is mobile everything has become a toy…including the dishwasher. Him and Gavin both enjoy helping me with the dishes…aka…dropping clean dishes all over the dirty floor. Thankfully, nothing has broken so far. Fingers crossed.
Favorite Moment: Since he has been “talking” so much more the past month the nighttime babbling has begun. Everytime I go in and rock him and give him his bottle he will snuggle with me and just talk. Various versions of “baba, dada, mama, lala” and all sorts of other words come tumbling out of his mouth. He is sooo happy and it’s the way he self soothes himself back to sleep. I’ll lay him down and then listen to him in the monitor in my room until he falls asleep. It’s the cutest and something I hope to always remember.
I can’t believe he will be 1 in 2 months. This year has flown by….but don’t they all. See you next month!
Height/Weight: 22 lbs and 34 inches of pure cuteness.
Routine: We are on a great routine which helps everything in the house run smoothly. Even when the older two are out of school we are able to keep the little ones on their schedule, for the most part. This definitely makes for a much happier and peaceful running household.
Sleeping: Me and him are still partying it up 2-3 times per night but I can’t say I’m not used to it at this point. Putting him back to bed is a breeze and with his transition to more solid foods he is hungry at night. I expect for this to only last another month or so and am looking forward to a full nights sleep…..although am a bit nostalgic about not having those nightly rocking sessions with a baby anymore.
Eating/Feeding: As I just mentioned, we are transitioning to a lot of solids. He is only having about 2-3 bottles of formula a day (mostly at night) and is enjoying many more solid foods than usual. We were struggling with him feeding himself which made introducing some foods difficult. He woke up one day and decided he could feed himself, drink out of a sippy cup and chew big boy foods all at the same time. Sooooo we rolled with it. His favorite foods include cheerios (of any flavor) goldfish, fruit of all kinds, cottage cheese, oatmeal, yogurt, puffs, cereal bars, chicken, pasta, and some veggies. He is tolerating Vitamin D milk like a champ and is basically a little dog….crawling under the table and eating all the scraps of crumbs. 😉
Sizes: Size 4 diapers but is literally wearing 2T shirts. I had pulled out some of Gavin’s old clothes, thinking they would be too big but alas not so much. It’s crazy how tall he continues to get. He literally can’t keep fat on him because it just goes to his new length. If I don’t have at least one athlete in this bunch, I’ll be shocked. Warmer weather is coming so we can transition to shorts which means we can put away the pants that are getting eerily close to becoming capris. Haha
Milestones: He is hitting milestones at a rapid pace. He is crawling everywhere now, pulling himself up to standing and creeping along the furniture. He is saying mama and dada (dada being his favorite) of course…..little traitorous creatures. (insert eye rolling emoji here) He is feeding himself, waving bye bye, and just being such a big boy. He was chill with hitting milestones and then literally has hit them so fast and all at once it’s hard to keep up. And it’s making me super sad because he is barely in each phase before moving to the next. I’m almost positive he will be walking before or close to his first birthday next month and he literally just started crawling. Cue all the tears.
Favorite Toys: All the big boy toys are his favorite. I mean he has 3 older brothers and does not have patience or the stomach for “baby” toys. He just looks at me like “really, mom? This is sooo beneath me and my intelligence.” 😉 Give him the rubiks cube, jump rope, and toy trains any day….even if they are hazardous. He will probably be able to solve the rubiks cube before Logan figures it out. Hahaha. He also LOVES anything that moves like his stroller, the wagon and Gavins truck. I’m definitely going to have to get him another one of those for his birthday so they can race around like crazy and wild animals.
Favorite Moment: Him and Gavin have gotten into playing in Gavin’s room with his train table. Gavin will call to him and Boden will just crawl right in there and they will play for HOURS at that table in their own little worlds. I will join them for a while but also love just sitting in the other room just watching them from afar and listening to them communicate. They have their own language and it is just the sweetest. Reminds me of when Logan and Mason were that age and how they could communicate with their incoherent words. It’s so fun to see two pairs of boys be so similar yet so different. Life is good!
Thanks for bearing with my double updates today. Last update coming next month for Boden’s FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!!
