Yesterday, was my father’s birthday. I won’t say how old he is because apparantly after you reach a certain age you don’t want anyone to know how old they are. However, if it slips out I plead insanity and not guilty!!!
The plan was for pizza, games , ice cream and whole lot of family time. Surprisingly it pretty much happened exactly that way.
Once we finally decided on the pizza (yes, we were trying to please 12 people) we stuffed our faces until we were on a cheesy, carby sodium high. Savannah and Logan even stopped with to ‘cheer’ the birthday boy!
Games were fun and competitive as usual. We always claim to ‘not care who wins’ but my whole life we have always known we will fight dirty and pretty much walk over anyone in our paths. This definitely makes game nights interesting, complex and a whole lot of fun. Some would say being competitive is a bad thing but frankly I’d rather play a really competitive game than one where everyone wants everyone else to win. BORING!! 😉
Here is my brother and his girlfriend Lindsey posing for the headbanz game!
Eventually we all needed to cool off with some ice cream….
Yes, mention the word ice cream anywhere around us and we all pretty much start salivating and acting like it’s Christmas morning. It was pretty delicious.
Here are some other highlights from our night that I captured on my phone. Yes, I’m camera obsessed and now having such a good camera on my iPhone is making people hate me cause I’m always snapping away. Course, the downside is people think I’m being rude and texting when really I’m taking and editing pictures. Occupational hazard I suppose…
Here is Austin describing how to draw a car to Logan. I must say Austin looks very into this coloring activity. Who knew?
Here are me and my beautiful sisters…. LOVE these girls
As always, it was great to spend the evening with family and it’s neat to see how big we are getting with grandkids and significant others. We almost filled up the whole living room. It’s turning into happy chaos….but chaos just the same. 🙂
The most important thing was that my dad had a birthday and we got to celebrate another year we had with him. I’m very thankful to have such an amazing father and wouldnt trade him for the world….maybe for the universe….but not the world!!! haha just kidding dad!
I love you daddy!!!
