The older two are planning a move downstairs in an attempt to seek more independence and get away with more since mom and dad won’t be under their nose. I’m on to their little strategies but they seem to think I’m oblivious. Haha. The room downstairs is bigger, as is the closet, and since they share, the plan was always for them to move down there eventually. I figure a gift I can give my kids is some space so might as well just start now.
They have decided and agreed (yes, they actually agreed on something) on a vintage sports type theme. I feel that, if done well, it can be something that carries them through all sorts of stages they’ll be going through soon and doesn’t scream little kid. I’m all about having decor that stands the test of time. Beiges, grey and navy will be my base colors…I’m nervous about mixing the grey with beige but I think it can be done. Then the rest will be classic and neutral decor of a variety of sports but more heavily football and baseball since those are the two favorites. I’m switching all their bedding to a more neutral pallet in hopes they’ll actually keep the sheets on as opposed to throwing on the floor every day. (Yea, I know this is a lost cause) I’m going to let them pick all their own decor and they’re super excited about it. It’s always fun to do projects with them since their old enough to have pretty good opinions these days. LOL
As for the room up here, that they will be vacating, well we have some ideas brewing and will share more on that once decided. Empty space is always exciting to fill. 🙂
Have a great weekend everyone!!
