Hey ladies, listen up! I’ve got a secret and I’m in a sharing mood.
Okay, so unfortunately us women are hairy. Not like caveman hairy…..but we still have prickles in all the places we would rather be smooth. The amount of time we spend in our quest to smoothness is only rubbed in our face when we wake up to roughness the very next morning. I don’t know about you, but being a working mom and wife makes it hard to shave every single day and I’m sure my skin would hate me for that anyways. Ideally, I would get laser hair removal that way I never had to worry about it again…..but that costs a pretty penny and right now just isn’t in the budget. So until that glorious day, I will continue to use the best thing I know that’s out there and hope my secret helps you all in the process.
Lately, the shaving aisle can be a little overwhelming. There are so many products to choose from and it’s hard to know what will work best and what won’t. Are 5 blades better than 4? Is a gel strip better than lotion? Is a moveable had better than a fixed? I mean I want to just grab a razor and go….not have to stand for 20 minutes trying to solve all of life’s problems. So I decided to get rid of the marketing distractions, the pretty colors and do something different. The women’s razors hadn’t been giving me satisfying results for years so why keep wasting my money? The next thing I knew I was grabbing a man’s razor and heading to the checkout lane.
Okay, so let me tell ya. I have never turned back. This is the best secret I have ever discovered. Mens razors are made for the course hair on a man’s face so are very sharp and moisturizing. Course hair requires a better blade than soft hair in order to achieve results. Well women’s hair on their legs is course when it firsts grows back after shaving. Most of us don’t let it get long enough to become all soft and silky again. Therefore a man’s razor works wonders on the course hair of the legs. Another thing I like is the gel strip. It’s very moisturizing and helps the razor glide right over the skin. (Again no one wants a bunch of razor burn on their face or neck so these companies have to provide optimal moisture) Lastly, the movement of the razor head is fantastic. It’s made to get into all the nooks and crannies by the nose, mouth, neck and chin and must be moveable enough that it doesn’t slice the skin open. Therefore, it glides effortlessly over the knees and ankles without risking a nick that would just ruin a perfectly good day. Honestly, the whole thing is just fantastic.
Seems like a simple secret but I’m not going back. Mens razors are basically the same price and my smooth skin lasts much longer than when I’m using the women’s.
Here are my two favorites…..
Both of them are equally awesome. I shave with baby oil instead of shaving cream and moisturize with coconut oil right after showering. This combination has led to some pretty silky legs that even my husband has commented on! Ohhhh Yea!! 😉
Give it a try and let me know what ya think.
For the sake of hairy legs everywhere……
