How far along: 38 Weeks! 14 days to go, people! Or maybe less…woot woot….or maybe more….ummmm nope not going there. Haha! For everyone who has asked, I don’t have a feeling one way or the other about when he will be born. My ‘instincts’ have always been off with the past 3 so I’ve realized they were probably more wishful thoughts than instincts. I swore Gavin was going to come at 38 weeks and even had a false alarm at the hospital and he was born at 39 weeks and 4 days so see….wrong, wrong, wrong. The only suspicion I have is that he will be born in the 39th week since the last two were but we all know babies….unpredictable little creatures.
Baby’s size: 19.61 inches and almost 7 pounds. Of course these are very much estimates so who knows what this little dude is weighing in at. I still suspect he will be on the smaller side but my intuitive feelings have been wrong before. He is now the official size of half a tray of meringues and I assume by tray they mean like a baking sheet. He is lodging himself in my ribs quite nicely but not nearly as much as the other three. Thankfully, with a few little pushes on his feet he slides right on out. I’m telling you this guy is the bomb at listening to me and knowing what I need from him. We are like so in tune it’s amazing. I am REALLY hoping this continues this after birth. I will be the luckiest woman on planet earth.
Sleep: At this point it’s about as good as it can be. I have quite a bit of pelvic pain at night which makes switching positions difficult. This sucks because I tend to switch positions a lot but on the bright side, the pain doesn’t keep me up so that’s definitely a big positive. Insomnia is back a little bit but nothing too crazy. I have about an hour of restlessness every night and I use that to go pee and adjust all of my pillows, so it’s time well spent. Haha.
Best moment this week: It was a pretty good week, honestly. Not one particular moment stands out above the rest.
Movement: He’s a cramped little dude. His movements are still good and strong so that’s good. I can tell he is packing on weight since they are stronger and more defined so seems like everything is just perfect inside that little belly oven.
Cravings: My appetite has returned a bit the past two days. I’ve been craving cashew chicken of all things. I even wanted it for breakfast this morning….weird, I know. No, I didn’t eat it for breakfast, so I haven’t completely lost my mind – yet. Other than that nothing really stands out. Just the usual stuff.
Missing Anything: Being able to accomplish anything with speed. I like to do things fast and it’s impossible to be 300 months pregnant and do anything fast so it’s always hard for me. I feel like a sluggish slug who takes 5 times as long to accomplish anything. Drives me crazy! How do people operate at a slow pace??
Queasy or sick: I’m still a bit stuffed up but nothing too bad. It’s preggo hormones mixed with change of seasons I suspect. Nothing really bothersome, though.
Looking forward to: Dr Appointment on Friday where she will check for progress. I’m curious to see if anything is happening at all. Braxton hicks have picked up at night but that’s right on schedule for this point. We both suspect my water will break first with this one as well so we will see how strong my membranes are with this little dude. Haha
Baby Item of the Week: The nursery is done!!! It looks soooo cute and I am so happy with how it all turned out and can’t wait to share it with you all. I also have all bags packed and ready for the hospital as well as babysitters and on call people ready to go. Jared’s been educated on his role during labor which includes, chilling out drinking coffee, watching me look asleep, and being on massage duty if so needed. I must say he had zero complaints with that, although, he is much more nervous about me going sans epidural than I am. I’m not nervous at all and poor thing is worried I’ll be in pain. Such a sweet guy! Maybe I’ll spike his coffee with something and he will be just as relaxed as I am. 😉 It will all go great and I know me and bed bug got this. Easy Peasy, right??
Oh and how about this 10 week difference! Someone’s been putting on some weight and I don’t mean me. 😉
