How far along: 37 Weeks and approximately 21 days to go. The fact that I could have a baby any time in the next 3 weeks is mind blowing. I mean can you see the smoke coming out of the top of my head? Mind Blown! I often wondered how some women could have 8 or 10 kids and still be able to move while pregnant and now I realize that the more you have the faster the pregnancies go. It’s like you pee on a stick and then BAM they’re here. You don’t really have a single moment to even think about being pregnant. It’s crazy!
Baby’s size: 19.5 inches and about 6.5 pounds, give or take. He is the size of a watermelon or a whole entire tray of macaroons. Let’s just say he’s big and accumulating lots of fat for those chunky rolls.
Sleep: Meh, about the same. I did get a really great nights sleep on Monday but I think it’s because I stayed up pretty late and with the time change my body just crashed. I am still sleeping better than I did, at this point, with every other pregnancy so I am very thankful for that….even on the nights when insomnia hits. I can very much tell my body and bed bug is getting ready for labor. Again, I am so in tune with my body this time around I have really noticed things that I just didn’t even pay attention to with my other 3 pregnancies. It’s quite fascinating.
Best moment this week: Went to the doctor on Friday and everything still looks great. Measuring about a 1/2 week ahead which means nothing considering I measured 2 weeks ahead with Gavin and this is my 4th baby. So I don’t expect him to come super early or anything. Heart rate looked good and he was kicking up a storm. My doctor is on vacation this week so he is not allowed to make an appearance until she is back but I also don’t have to go to the doctor this week so get an extra week off from sitting in waiting rooms. Score!!! I love my doctor and how she is super chill with what she likes to call “veteran moms.”
Movement: Still moving a lot. I’m still convinced he might be a bit smaller than Gavin because while he is definitely squished I can tell he still has room to be pretty active. Gavin was pretty much at max capacity 3 weeks out. Of course baby weight is pretty unpredictable but it’s adding to my suspicion. Guess we will find out soon.
Cravings: I barely eat anymore to be honest. Somedays I eat my usual 3 meals and a snack but a couple of days last week I ate breakfast and lunch and pretty much nothing else. I haven’t had much of an appetite and don’t have any room to put anything so haven’t even been hungry. Obviously, baby needs food so I try to sneak in a couple things here and there but really there’s no cravings or any big food interest at this point at all.
Missing Anything: I’ve been feeling good this week. I have overdone it a couple of days and thats when I really start to notice pelvic pain but if I take it slow and take breaks than I am much better off. I also try to take one day a week to be still. Well as still as you can be with a toddler and two other kids. But lay on the couch instead of sitting, don’t do housework and just take it easy. I usually get about half a day of this in but it has helped me soooo much physically and mentally. It really rejuvenates my body and helps me gear up for the next several days.
Queasy or sick: Still have that weird chest congestion stuff that seems to be going around and still have a cold but I think both are dissipating. EVERYONE seems to have had something so I’m not surprised it hit our household. Gavin has been sick for over a week and I’m hoping he is on the tail end of his. Changing seasons is never the easiest but we get through it.
Looking forward to: No big events or anything are planned this week. Really, I think we are all just trying to soak up these last few days as a family of 5. I don’t think a single person is even worried or nervous about the impending chaos or adjustments. I mean perhaps Gavin but he will be fine. We seem to the be the poster family for change and adjustments so we’ve got this in the bag.
Baby Item of the Week: Nothing new. I decided to do something different above the changing table so I just need to find what I’m looking for and then I’m done. Not super important or anything since it’s just decor but hopefully I can try to find what I need and get that taken care of. Otherwise, we are ready to go whenever Bed Bug is. 🙂
And just for fun here is a side by side comparison of pregnancy with Gavin and this one. Definitely see a little bit of a difference. Always interesting to compare.
