How far along: 36 Weeks and approximately 28 more days to go. We are officially in month 9 and I am officially feeling 9 months pregnant as is bed bug considering he is growing rapidly. He is desperately trying to get comfortable in his squished place and some days I swear he gets a little frustrated, has a mini meltdown of kicks, before just falling asleep. I know this sounds crazy but I swear it is what’s happening. Soon we will all be a little less squished, little guy….just hold on.
Baby’s size: Approximately 6 pounds and 19 inches long. Now he is gaining about half a pound until birth so will come out a nice big chunky little dude. I’m still not convinced he will be as large as Gavin since I don’t seem to be as large as I was with him but my belly has been different all 4 times so who knows. Apparently, there is no more french desserts big enough to represent so we are now at two plates of beignets or as American’s call them…fritters. Haha
Sleep: So something odd is happening. All the things I’ve been raving about and so thankful that have been happening up until this point are now revolting against me. For example, sleep. Remember last week I was saying how great it had been and how excited I was to be getting such good sleep this late in pregnancy? Well apparently my mind did not like such admiration because sleep the last 3 days has been horrid. Okay, so maybe horrid is a bit dramatic but it’s not been the best. I haven’t changed anything but the insomnia is back and no matter how much I try I just can’t seem to doze off once awake. I just envision bed bug already being here and all the nights we are going to be awake together and oddly it keeps me from getting upset about it. I mean it’s pointless to get upset about no sleep anyways….a lot of good that does. So he usually wakes up and entertains me for a bit and we keep each other company. The quiet is nice, since quiet in my house is pretty rare. So I guess I’m trying to look at it like it’s a gift and maybe that will help keep me from getting grumpy at 2:00 in the afternoon the following day. 😉
Best moment this week: The boys have been on Spring Break this week so that’s been fun. Saturday we did a donut and coffee breakfast which we pretty much NEVER do so that was really fun and it was a full Saturday off of work for both me and Jared at the same time so that was really nice. The weather has been amazing so we’ve been doing lots of football games, sidewalk chalk, wagon riding, ball kicking and other outdoor activities.
Movement: About the same minus some slowing down/difference in movements. Like I mentioned earlier he is feeling the tight space and is having a harder time really getting much movement in. So it’s more of a change of positions for him or an adjustment of arm or knee instead of the more playing type patterns. He’s over the cocoon. Haha
Cravings: Still iced stuff, since I’ve entered the “I’m so thirsty all the time” phase. I don’t really have any strong cravings towards anything else. Little things that come and go but nothing super like “I need that now or else I’ll die.”
Missing Anything: Moving without pelvic pain. My tendons and ligaments are definitely feeling it the past week and it’s been pretty painful. Nothing I can’t handle, or really have a choice to handle, but definitely hard to do much.
Queasy or sick: I have definitely been feeling a little off the past week. I’ve had a couple days of nausea, pain and just a general fatigued feeling. I think it’s a combo of no sleep, squished lungs and a cold I seem to have developed. He is on my lungs and then the cold has hit so breathing has become difficult which I think is contributing to the nausea feeling. Probably more of a mental thing than anything else. Hopefully, it all passes and I’ll feel better….if not we don’t have longer to go so I’ll survive.
Looking forward to: Doctors Appointment Friday and then every week from here on out. These are always fun appointments since they seem to go by pretty fast once you start going every week. Plus, you talk a lot about labor and delivery, check for progress and dilation and so everything becomes much more real and exciting. No turning back now.
Baby Item of the Week: You guys the nursery is almost done. And when I say almost I mean it is done and could accommodate little man if we had too. Just really need to hang a couple of shelves and hooks and find a large mirror and we will be complete. I am in love with how everything turned out and am glad that what I pictured in my head actually came to life. I won’t be winning any HGTV awards but it’s cozy and fun and I’m super excited about it. Can’t wait to reveal after he is born. I’m installing the car seat into the car probably tomorrow and then hauling the rest of the baby stuff upstairs. We are all ready now! 🙂
