The homestretch is on and we couldn’t be more excited to meet the new little guy. Today we welcome week 34 with a nice relaxing family day at home to celebrate easter. Currently the boys have completed an egg hunt, eaten about 8 pieces of candy a piece (judging by all the wrappers), completed some art projects (courtesy of some Easter bag goodies) and from the looks of the floors in my house they have been playing with glue, pencils, stickers and a host of other things!! Needless to say it’s set to be a pretty great day here at the ole abode!
How far along: 34 weeks
Baby’s size: Got about a 5 pounder that I’m hauling around at this point and he has basically reached his birth length. If someone wants a fruit comparison it says it’s the size of a honeydew but I’ve never seen a 20 inch honeydew before. I think these food things are more for the weight than the actual baby size. Either that or I’m completely missing something! Hmmm….
Sleep: What to say that hasn’t already been said! 🙂 I’m looking forward to a nap this afternoon if that says anything!
Best moment this week: I got some much needed girl time with my soul sister on Friday and Logan had an amazing patriotic performance on Thursday night. Watching 97 first graders memorize so many songs, sign language, speeches and choreography was pretty awesome and I was one proud mamma! Then on Wednesday Mason got to register for Kindergarten and passed with flying colors and was super excited. So it’s been a pretty great week. Busy but great!
Worst moment of the week: Oh just the general stress and hormones again. I’ll be glad to get my self back. I really don’t like this witchy side that seems to have overtaken my body lately!
Movement: Movements have officially decreased and are here to stay I think. He moves throughout the day but it’s more like him rolling to find a comfortable position. So they are short lived but I try to wake him up every few hours just to check on him.
Cravings: Watermelon, Canteloupe and any other fruit that is heavily water based. I have been dying of thirst the past week and chugging water like crazy. However, the only thing that really quenches my thirst is the fruit so I’m not sure what is up with that. Thankfully, I’m not retaining much water like I was with my other kids so I think all the drinking has definitely helped.
Missing Anything: Less stress. I’m hoping in the next few weeks I can cross some things off my list and find my place of zen!
Queasy or sick: Nope still good on this front which is a relief
Looking forward to: Doctors appointment again on Tuesday. Almost going every week now. Plus, I feel and have had several people tell me it looks like he has dropped. It’s early for him to do this so I’m curious to see what the doctor says. Of course these are also the same people who have sworn I’m having twins this whole pregnancy so I’m not holding too much weight with their observations. haha
Baby item of the week: Got the “dresser” finished and moved up to the nursery. Technically, it isn’t a dresser but it will be used as one. It’s our old entertainment shelf which is only a year old but once we moved we didn’t need it anymore. So after not being able to find a decent and high quality dresser that wasn’t over $1,000 we decided to just use what we had. The hubs painted it white and then put gray over it which gave it a nice distressed, beachy, nautical look. I’m using the bins for the clothes and accessories and then the top will be perfect for a changing pad so it can double as a changing table. I really don’t like the brown bins since they don’t exactly coordinate with everything in the room but I couldn’t find any more of the tan color and they were clearancing them out so I was forced to get brown. However, it’s not a life or death situation so it’s all good. It works out nice for all the small baby clothes and I can get away with not folding a lot of it which will be amazingly nice once he is born.
Happy Easter everybody!!
