How far along: 34 Weeks! 42 Days to go and only 2 weeks left in month 8. (Yes, month 8 is technically 5 weeks long but who is counting)
Baby’s size: 18 inches and 5 pounds. Yup, he is already 5 pounds and I can feel all of those, thank you very much. Apparently, the french baguette has a cousin in the form of the baguette batard (funny name) and is the shorter, wider version of the french. So I guess this means he is plumping out since he is wider now.
Sleep: Not too bad. I am getting some insomnia again where I’m awake for an hour or two in the middle of the night but I’m not really wide awake necessarily which is good. The hip discomfort is a bit worse but usually changing positions does help temporarily and I get a few zzzz’s before having to switch again. Honestly, again no complaints as any sleep at this point is truly an accomplishment and something I will look back fondly on when I’m getting up every hour for feedings.
Best moment this week: Got all orders out Friday so we have officially been off this week. Of course we have still had some business stuff to do and have been to the warehouse nearly every day but at least there is no pressure to get actual work done. Just mostly prep for some new changes. My birthday was Monday and me and Jared got to go out on Sunday for a few hours to have some peace and quiet. We just dawdled around town doing nothing too important and had a great time.
Movement: Very strong now due to the amniotic fluid being at it’s peak so isn’t really softening the blows anymore. All of the boys have gotten to see him move and feel him. They like to play the flashlight game and he reacts every time so that’s fun. He doesn’t do too many painful stretches… yet so that is for sure a plus.
Cravings: Still iced stuff. I think the boys have adopted my strange craving for iced things as well since every time I see them they all three have cups of ice. Let’s just say I’ve been wiping up A LOT of ice/water mess all over my floors.
Missing Anything: Having clothes to wear. I’m starting to retain water so am running out of clothes – well at least really comfortable clothes. I don’t want to look like a slob so try to stay out of my yoga pants on a daily basis but jeans and other clothes are getting a little constrictive. (By the way I have nothing against yoga pants – I just look like a slob when I’m 8 months pregnant wearing them since it gives me no motivation to even fix my hair – so just clarifying)
Queasy or sick: No sickness. Just general end of pregnancy fatigue and difficulty breathing since baby is getting bigger. Once he drops a bit that problem will be solved. Until then I’m practicing my deep breathing techniques. haha. Braxton hicks have also been happening a lot. I’m pretty sure you get more and more and more of these the more children you have. It’s actually been good, however, because it gives me a chance to practice all my hypnobirthing techniques. So win-win.
Looking forward to: Doctors Appointment Friday and then I have a prenatal massage I need to get scheduled. Definitely the perfect time for that. Spring Break is in 1.5 weeks and then it really will be baby time. Crazy how soon it’s coming.
Baby Item of the Week: My best friend’s mom made all sorts of awesome things for me and I’m sooooo excited about them. I’m getting curtains and decor hung in the nursery, trash thrown away, and everything opened and sorted. Still need to get some clothes and a couple other essentials but definitely on to the final steps of nursery prep. Hooray! I will do a full nursery reveal after he is born since the name will be on the wall – and that would just break the whole plan to keep the name a secret. Hahaha.
Happy 34 Weeks!
