This was written and picture taken at exactly 32 weeks….I’m just behind on posting it! (You know….the usual)
How far along: 32 weeks 5 days
Baby’s size: Gavin is approximately 19 inches and 3.9 pounds. He is practicing up all of those skills he will need once out of the womb such as swallowing, breathing and moving around. The main goal now is to put fat on his body since he is almost at his birth length. Once he is a fatty he will be ready for his debut! 🙂
Sleep: Nothing new to report. Continues to be painful and miserable! I won’t even mind the sleepless nights as long as the hip pain disappears. It has been a killer.
Best moment this week: My cousin’s wife had her baby on Friday! Their second girl name Kaylee. She weighed in at 8 lbs 11 oz and is the biggest little chunk. However, she is gorgeous and I got to hold her for a while yesterday so I definitely got my baby fill and even more excited for Gavin to be here.
Worst moment of the week: Pain, pain, pain. I kind of feel like a broken record with this at this point. Pelvic pain has definitely increased by about tenfold. Gavin likes to lay mainly on my right side so my right hip and pelvis are screaming for relief most days. I walk funny and stand funny and look like a giant whale trying to roll over and change positions at night. It’s quite the sight.
Movement: Still moving all the time. I feel cramped but he seems to be just fine in there since his movements haven’t slowed down. If anything I feel him more…..but technically he is a lot bigger now. Still enjoys the flashlight games and people talking to him.
Cravings: COFFEE!!! Due to lack of sleep I have been craving coffee like it’s my last time I’ll ever have the pleasure of drinking. Thanks to my husband I am currently enjoying a Starbucks. (I love him) However, I have had to cut down on my caffeine and coffee intake due to them causing contractions at this point. So the occasional treat is really great these days.
Missing Anything: Being in shape. I haven’t gained a ton of weight with this pregnancy but I feel like my hips have really spread (even more then they already were) and any weight has gone straight to my hips and thighs which is not helping with the pelvic pressure. At this point any exercise is really hard and almost nonproductive so I feel like I am just withering away into a blob. I know after he comes out I’m going to have a meltdown in the mirror and then have a serious motivational talk with myself about getting back into shape.
Queasy or sick: The nausea went away and only lasted a couple of days which was good. I have had a couple very short dizzy spells but nothing major.
Looking forward to: Doctor appointment again on Tuesday. (I swear I am there all the time.) I’m going to talk about my pelvic pain and see if there is anything I can do besides stretches. This should be one of my last “normal” appointments. After this I’ll have exams, interviews, and to start checking for dilation here in about a month. Craziness!!!
Baby item of the week: I found a cute laundry hamper at Target. I think it’s actually for toys or something but I’m going to use it to haul around clothes. The blue is a little bit lighter than the other blues in the room but it still works and I just couldn’t pass it up. My husband has until Easter to help finish the nursery. He has been crazy busy so I just gave him a list and a deadline so that he could work at his own pace. I’m sure he was tired of me nagging him about it! (No I’m not proud of the nagging) So hopefully in about 2 weeks I’ll have lots of nursery pictures for you all. I also have my baby shower on May 3rd. Once that is over I should have everything I need and be all ready to bring the little man home. Not too long now!!!
See ya next time!
