How far along: 21 weeks and 4 days (yes, I know I’m behind on posting this week)
Baby’s size: Size of a spaghetti squash. About 14 oz and is around 10.5 inches long. Gavin can perceive light and dark and has eyelashes and eyebrows and maybe some hair on his head….although if he takes after his dad and brothers…won’t be much. Growing like a weed and will start to rapidly grow here in a couple of weeks.
Sleep: Not too bad this week. However, I have definitely been more fatigued. This morning we got Logan on the bus and then came back in and went back to bed for a whole 2 hours. That never happens and it was much needed. I’m really trying to stay off my back while I sleep but somehow keep ending up in that position. Definitely makes my back hurt and I know it’s not recommended as a good sleeping position so trying to stop that bad habit that has crept up this week.
Best moment this week: Got all of the big furniture in for the nursery (minus the dresser). Also made some good and positive changes for our business and got to have a mommy/son date with my youngest on Tuesday night while we sent Daddy and Logan out for some man time. Oh and let’s not forget that nap I had today. Best moment ever!! haha
Worst moment of the week: The endless cold. I know I have mentioned that several times but the wind chill here is insane. I have put off grocery shopping for 3 days which is not good since I pretty much just have a bag of doritos left in this house. Definitely not on the recommended pregnancy diet. I am so ready for some spring weather or even cold weather without the wind. I can handle cold but I can’t handle anymore of this wind that can literally freeze your nose in .2 seconds. Eek!!
Movement: Still pretty active. My little monsters still haven’t felt him. He seems to get shy once they put their hand on my belly and then they don’t have the patience to wait for him to perform so we are still awaiting that moment. He is more awake in the afternoon and really likes to lay with his head up by my chest and his legs spread out towards my cervix. Always kicking and punching low.
Cravings: Wasn’t craving anything too bad this week which is probably good considering my package of twizzlers is basically gone. Oops!! :/
Missing Anything: Eating my steak red, walking without waddling and warm weather.
Queasy or sick: I have had a lot of dizzy spells this week. With my history of passing out it’s been a bit worrisome. I immediately lay on the bed and gulp water in case I’m dehydrated. It comes on so suddenly that usually I pass out before I can even react….but thankfully that has not happened. So I have been trying to make sure I up my H2O and I’m curious to see how my iron levels are at 28 weeks. I know that with my first son I was low so we will see how this pans out.
Looking forward to: My hubs birthday is Sunday so I’m going to take him out on Saturday for a miniature celebration. Then Sunday we will be having family and friends over to celebrate. I know this will be a bittersweet birthday since it will be the first without his mom so we are going to do our best to make the best of it. Thankfully, he has a birthday voicemail from her that she left last year so as he says, “I’ll never have to not hear her voice on my birthday.” (Yes that brings a little tear to my eye)
Baby item of the week: After a huge headache I finally got the glider in this week. The place we ordered it to sent us the wrong product 2 weeks ago and then the only way to return or figure out the problem was through e-mail. The process was crazy and took forever but I finally got the mystery product returned and they sent my rocking chair. With the help of my Mason Man we put it together and got to try it out. He climbed on my lap and told me to rock him. Right before he nearly fell asleep he sat straight up and said, “I’m not a baby anymore let’s go play.” Haha what a goof ball. Can’t wait until I can rock my new little guy to sleep. It will be here before we know it!! 🙂
